WOMANROCK
member Emily
Zuzik's song "That's the Way" was featured on
the UK compilation The Greatest Music You've Never Heard:
Volume One. The album, released by Mosquito
Media and with the good graces of the Garland Appeal USA,
donates One pound Sterling from each sale to Breast Cancer Research.
The Garland Appeal is an international charity that commemorates
the incredible life of Linda McCartney. The charity is truly
unique in providing women with the most effective modalities
for the early detection of breast cancer.

WOMANROCK
artist Sara
Marlowe's song 'War is Coming' is included on the Peace
Not War Volume 2 compilation CD. This compilation was assembled
by British and Australian musicians and activists to represent
the definitive soundtrack for this generations peace movement.
Peace Not War CDs help fund nonviolent groups working to end
war and create global peace. The producers of the compilation
state that the 37 track compilation redefines protest music
for the twenty-first century: non-stop funky beats on one disc
and fat guitars on the other, with deep and inspiring lyrics
throughout. Produced & funded independently by a small collective
of activists & musicians (not a record label), the CDs are
sold by peace groups to raise funds and retail in record stores
in 21 countries. The CD will be officially released on October
11, 2004. For more info, check out www.peace-not-war.org.
Saras
song, War is Coming, co-written by Brian Champ,
Danny Monette, Jeff Stone & Shawn Whitney for the musical
Deaths Diner (Lost Carnival Productions), was chosen
out of over 500 submissions to be included on the compilation.
This song is from her first CD, A World to Win: Songs
from the Struggle for Global Justice.
Sara
is very honoured to have her music included alongside such great
artists as Michael Franti & Spearhead, Janes Addiction,
Sonic Youth and Ani DiFranco, (to name a few) as well as to
be a part of this very important peace project.
Sara
continues to be an active organizer (and performer) in the anti-war
movement in Canada, playing at numerous rallies and peace marches.
To hear more of her anti-war and social justice music, check
out www.saramarlowe.com.
Her CDs are also available at the WOMANROCK
MusicShop.

There
are a couple of good reasons to buy Down Like Hail, the
new CD from Jason Crigler. First off, it's a great CD. But perhaps
more importantly, Jason - who plays with WOMANROCKers Goats
in Trees and Rachel
Loshak - hasn't been so well of late. He's making a great
recovery, but we're sure a few more CD sales will speed up his
recovery. The CD is for sale online at www.jasoncrigler.com,
and it's also available at the Living Room in NYC.
