ABOUT HER CAREER
 The
answer to this question depends very much on what day it is. Yes,
I have released my first record on a major label. And supposedly
I'm working on a second right now. Writing, writing and writing...
PEOPLE WHO HAVE SUPPORTED HER
It's a dark day -- so I must give a dark answer... No one helps...unless
there is something in it for them ... and no one cares about your
career more than you do, so basically if you want to get something
accomplished, you must do it yourself. (Except for your mom...your
mom will do whatever she can to ensure that you are happy)
LISTENING TO
Oh, and one other thing I must mention is that I can't stop listening
to the new Freedy Johnson CD - "Blue Days Black Nights" -- it's
so, so beautiful.
ABOUT MP3
MP3 reminds me of the mixed tapes I used to make off of the radio
when I was a kid. You know? Obviously, MP3 is much more high tech,
but honestly I don't think it sounds much better (maybe it's my
little computer speakers).
I do have songs from my "first" record available for download on
both my label site (giantrecords.com)
and my fan site (michellelewis.com).
I'm planning on making some previously unreleased stuff available
on the fan site -- like an acoustic version of one of my songs we
had to redo for a soundtrack ("Nowhere and Everywhere" for the movie
Practical Magic"), or some decent sounding demos I did from before
I got signed. It's kind of an experiment for me, to see if people
really do get music off of the web.
ABOUT RECORD LABELS
I don't have my own label...but I hope to have one someday. Right
now I'm on Giant/Warner Bros., but I labor under no false impressions
that this is a good thing or that this is permanent.
SOME GIRL STUFF
I like MAC make-up...I use Tint for stage cheekbones. Makeup Forever
makes the best sparkles I've ever tried. I'm obsessed with anything
by Origins that smells good. My shower is basically a fruit salad
of products -- minty shampoo, peach conditioner, strawberry scrub,
ginger shower gel, it goes on and on.
