JILL JACK

HER CAREER

Jill JackI have released 3 CD's in 3 years, Watch Over Me in 1997, Too Close to the Sun in 1998 and Live from Billy's Basement in 1999. These are all on the Drum Dancer Record Label, which is an independent label.

HER SUPPORTERS

The people most helpful in my career thus far are definitely my record company president Billy Brandt, the press from Detroit and Radio Station 93.9 The River. We stay very visible to our public in the Detroit area and become a favorite with the press and radio adds when they can.

Billy had I share the responsibilities of booking, promotion, recording, mixing, performing (Billy is also my guitar player), and anything else that takes any coordination to make this work (standing on your head, etc!!)

ABOUT MP3

I believe that MP3 is another avenue of many that gives us artists a way to reach people when we can not get to them in anyother capacity. We are MP3 available on IUMA which will soon be linked to www.jilljack.com, where you can currently take a listen on real audio.

GIRL STUFF

My personal style consists of my moods at the moment. Mainly whatever feels comfortable but I like to feel like a woman too. So wearing a tent is usually out of the question. I like feeling sensual, but you can feel that way in a good pair of overalls or tight black pants or a long skirt. Just depends on the mood. I hate wearing make up, but for the most part, will wear it for shows, because alot of times people will ask me if I'm sick or tired without it!!! My hobbies are easy, I have a daughter so there goes my hobbies right out the window! Just kidding. I love to garden (don't know a thing about it but love to work with the earth!) I am an avid garbage picker, I take old furniture, cabinets, etc and repaint, restore and put my own personality on it. Someday I would like to open a small shop with all my creations. Where I live in Ferndale, there are some of the best woman's clothing stores. Places like Excelsior, Patti Smith and Cinderella's Attic and Axis all have everything from vintage to the buyers last shopping spree in New York. It's alot of fun and I spend all the money I do not have (my poor car payment).
