Editor's Note

In this month's WomanRock Otep Shamaya explains that for art to be successful you have to make yourself vulnerable. That's not a new idea, but it's something worth reminding ourselves from time to time. It's so easy to fall into ideas that are "safe." When the alternative to that however is "not being creative," (Otep's biggest fear), it somehow seems easier to muster up the courage needed to push boundaries.

The musicians in this issue have all poured incredible amounts of self into their work and hopefully something in one of their stories will resonate with you too.
